Colona, Illinois – (for immediate release) I-80 Equipment is Expanding! I-80 has been busy during the winter months adding (2) new buildings to expand our reconditioning facility to better provide more quality used bucket trucks for our customers!
Our current building will house the Mechanic’s Bay, the new center building (60 x 113) will be our expanded paint bay and the third building (60 x 88) will be our new showroom!
I-80 Equipment does all of our own reconditioning in-house to assure you a “like-new” appearance, while still affording our customers a quality used vehicle at a very competitive price.

Sterling Bucket Truck Company in Deal with Altec Industries
STERLING Tuesday, March 9, 2010— Altec Northeast LLC., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Altec Inc. of Birmingham, Ala., announced that it has finalized the acquisition of certain assets of Morse Manufacturing of Sterling, a supplier of aerial bucket trucks for electic utilities.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Altec plans to continue using Morse’s facility in Sterling for final assembly of truck mounted aerial lifts, digger derricks, cranes and bodies for customers located in New England and Mid-Atlantic states, Altec said in a press release.
Altec Inc. is the holding company for the world’s leading manufacturer of aerial lifts, digger derricks, truck-mounted cranes and specialty equipment for the electric utility, telecommunications, contractor and tree care industries. Altec has manufacturing, sales and service facilities located throughout North America and sells and services equipment in more than 100 countries, the company said.

Altec buys Massachusetts Manufacturer

Altec Inc. said it recently acquired part of a Massachusetts-based equipment manufacturer.
The Birmingham-based company’s Altec Northeast LLC finalized the deal to buy certain assets of Morse Manufacturing, an aerial device equipment maker for the utility industry, said a news release.
Altec said it will use the acquisition to expand its presence in New England and the Mid-Atlantic.
“Morse has a well-established reputation for producing reliable, quality products for over 125 years,” said Lee Styslinger III, president and CEO of Altec. “They have been a leading supplier of aerial device equipment for the utility industry, and their modern final assembly plant in Massachusetts will be an excellent complement to Altec’s comprehensive network of manufacturing and service facilities located throughout the United States and Canada.”
The company will use Morse’s Sterling, Mass., facility to assemble truck-mounted aerial lifts, digger derricks, cranes and bodies for its customers in New England and Mid-Atlantic states.
Altec is Birmingham based and produces specialty equipment for the electric utility, telecommunications, contractor and tree care industries.
